Oreo Addiction
When I initially read the title, I was honestly not surprised. I have learned that in this world just about anything can be as addictive as well known drugs. The article did a fantastic job in making the article easy to read and follow. Never did I once feel it was pain to read. The way the scientists discovered how Oreos are so addictive appears to be a bit too inhumane for my tastes. Injecting the lab rats with drugs and all sort of bodily destructive products for a pointless reason is mind boggling. Is it really that necessary for us humans to know if Oreos are more addictive than Cocaine? The author explains, "high-sugar foods may present...danger because of their accessibility and affordability." Honestly this discovery won't really help man kind that much. Oreos wont disappear after this discovery and people wont stop consuming them. So was there really a formidable point for this experiment?

I agree that that Oreos won't disappear purely due to this experiment, but maybe if more people realized the true effcts of junkfood they would think more about what they are doing to their bodies. Like you said, Oreos aren't the only things that become addictive, it's anything high in sugar. I can see how this could be considered inhumane, but isn't it what we do to ourselves? I hope that at the very least scientists learned something from this experiment. I wish I could read this article! It'd be awesome if you hyperlinked it somewhere in your post next time.
ReplyDeleteI understand what you're saying about how you think it's unnecessary for animals to be injected with drugs and other inhumane things, just so we can know that Oreos are more addictive than cocaine. Your post sounds great, but my only suggestion is that you space your paragraphs out more. Other than that, I enjoyed reading your post.
